Meeting with GCED stakeholders in Georgia

Along with the Working Conference for GCED Training Course Development in Georgia, held from 16 to 17 May 2023 in Tbilisi, APCEIU had consultation meetings with various education stakeholders in Georgia.

 

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia

 

APCEIU paid a courtesy visit to Mr Giorgi Amilakhavari, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. The Minister acknowledged the significance of practising GCED in Georgia and expressed his strong support for the Global Citizenship Education Curriculum and Development and Integration Project (GCED CDI) and National Center for Teacher Professional Development, a local implementing agency for the project.

 

 

National Center for Teacher Professional Development

 

 

APCEIU visited the National Center for Teacher Professional Development to discuss overall project implementation. APCEIU also witnessed the Science Lab at the TPDC office and was introduced to the TPDC programmes and the new online platform, Educational e-House.

 

 

Tbilisi Public School

 

In Tbilisi public school, APCEIU observed classes linked with SDGs and GCED and listened to the school project presentations by the School Director, Ms Sophiko Lobzhanidze, and the student president.

 

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University & Ilia State University

APCEIU had consultation meetings with faculty members from educational departments in universities who showed particular interest in the conference and the project. APCEIU and professors shared information on the programmes of each institution and discussed possibilities for future collaborations.

 

 

Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Georgia

APCEIU paid a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Georgia to share information on a collaboration project between APCEIU and Georgia. APCEIU was welcomed by Mr Tong Op Kim, Charge D’ Affaires. APCEIU shared the project's progress and discussed how to continue educational collaborations with Georgia.

 

 

Based on cooperation with education stakeholders in Georgia, APCEIU and TPDC will complete the GCED CDI project by the end of this year and widely disseminate the results.
