[GCED Storybook] Aki's Dream

This is an educational storybook that uses fiction to depict situations that touch on GCED topics and skills. Each chapter of the book also contains questions and activities to further reflect on the themes covered.

In this book, it features Aki, a very talented footballer. His dream is to become the best footballer. However, when severe drought and famine hit his village, his family migrates to a new area. As a refugee, he doesn’t know the language and has no friends and as such cannot play football. When he joins a new school, Aki uses
his football talent to win the favor of friends and teachers. He quickly integrates into the new community. Slowly by slowly, his dream of playing football gets back on track. He continues to study and play football and is eventually scouted to play for the national team and foreign clubs in Europe. Aki’s dream eventually comes true.
